Appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Education as the President of the National Committee for the Assessment of Research on Languages and Linguistics ('Comisión Nacional Evaluadora de la Actividad Investigadora').

27 July 2006:
Awarded a Fellowship by the Spanish Ministry of Education and the Regional Government of Galicia (Directorate General for Scientific and Technological Promotion, grant no. 2006/19; 34.000 euros) for one year's research leave.
